NVIDIA Introduces New AI-Powered Utilities For The Omniverse

On August 9th, graphics card company NVIDIA unveiled new developer frameworks, applications, plugins, and tools for NVIDIA Omniverse. The Omniverse is the firm’s platform where developers create and link digital worlds based on USD (Universal Scene Description).

NVIDIA Launches More AI Tools On Its Omniverse Platform 

The addition includes several AI-powered tools and features. These tools will allow engineers, developers, and artists to create virtual worlds and content more easily.

Additionally, it would allow them to seamlessly connect to today’s top 3D programs such as SideFX Houdini, PTC Creo, and Unity. NVIDIA claims that over 700 of the world’s top businesses utilize the Omniverse. 

The Omniverse is a multi-GPU computing system where developers can conduct several activities. They can create virtual worlds, streamline visual effects workflows, improve product and architectural design, and create digital versions of cities, the planet, and factories.

According to Rev Lebaredian, NVIDIA’s VP of Omniverse and Simulation Technology, the metaverse is a trillion-dollar enterprise. He said that companies could not ignore the sector, although many do not know how to use it.

Also, Lebaredian said that the 3D internet is a reality due to new technologies, tools, and platforms like NVIDIA Omniverse. This helps to bridge the gap between the real and virtual worlds. 

Furthermore, the company unveiled an Avatar Cloud Engine. This is a collection of cloud-native AI models and services for creating and deploying lifelike people and digital assistants.

NVIDIA Adds More Omniverse Connectors

NVIDIA also introduced the following platform enhancements: Omniverse DeepSearch, Omniverse Audio2Face, Omniverse Machinima, Audio2Gesture, Omniverse Kit, and significant PhysX updates in Omniverse.

According to NVIDIA, Modulus-trained Physics ML models can now give a near-real-time performance up to 100,000 times quicker. However, this is based on the app and is more accurate than high-fidelity simulations.

In addition, NVIDIA also introduced 11 novel Omniverse Connectors. These connectors are USD-based. This is a joint effort with collaborators in the simulation, design, industrial, and CAD software ecosystems. 

These connectors further open Omniverse workflows to businesses in the scientific and industrial communities. With these, there are now 112 connectors to the USD ecosystem. 

Also, connectors for Visual Components, PTC Creo, and SideFX Houdini are currently in beta. The firm also developed the connectors for Siemens JT, Geospatial Consortium, Unity, Autodesk Civil 3D, and Blender. 

The aim was to open up metaverse processes for manufacturing, engineering, and design businesses. Meanwhile, the company also upgrades fundamental simulation technologies that depict physics, objects, and light in metaverse environments. They include the NeuralVDB and the NVIDIA MDL for modeling 3D materials.
