ARC’s IoT Tech To Be Introduced In The US Army’s NGSW Program

According to recent reports, the US NGSW (Next Generation Squad Weapon) program wants to introduce new advancements to the system. This is to improve the weaponry used by soldiers on the battlefield. 

This new advancement will include the IoT (Internet-of-Things) full-stack tech of ARC Inc. ARC (Armaments Research Company) is a data and tech firm that serves users in various fields of national security and safety.

ARC To Upgrade US Army’s NGSW Program Using IoT

Meanwhile, ARC will be collaborating with Sig Sauer on this project. The United States Army’s program would replace its squad machine guns, fire control system, individual rifles, and ammunition.

It is worthy to say the Army has been using the current program for over 65 years. The recent development will allow for the future improvement and modernization of war machines. 

ARC’s integrated IoT sensors will also provide ground commanders access to mission-critical information. This is something that was never possible before now.

Also, the ARC software system will make data about weapons available on a large scale. As a result, troops will be able to frequently evaluate the condition of their weapons, lower failure rates, increase a weapon’s lifespan, and improve maintenance schedules.

This is because the IoT system evaluates the unit’s vital capacity for rapid deployment in a war situation. Michael Canty, the CEO of the tech firm, said:

“For the first time in many years, the Army will update its weapons. This is due to our our team’s collaboration with Sig Sauer.”

Commanders To Have Access To More Tactical Information 

He also said the company is proud to join the NGSW program office’s quest for cutting-edge, data-driven weaponry. According to him, their system can improve equipment’s reliability and dependability by using the data from thousands of new weaponry as sources in the field. 

Ultimately, this information would help to protect lives. Also, the initial production deployment of NGSW weapons will include ARC’s inventory and round count management system.

This would allow for the collection of long-term data on weapon performance. The NGSW initiative aims to transform the Army’s military weapons in response to research showing that the threat of combat overmatch exists with present weaponry.
